UPDATE: Black Box Summit Fallout

November 24th, 2009

For all of you that like to read and hear gossip, this is the latest wrinkle in the CrossFit empire. I almost attended this seminar and know quite a few people who did, the aftermath of these events could mean the loss of a some amazing coaches and resources in the CrossFit community… The Black Box Summit Or How I Got Fired from the CrossFit Nutrition Certification

UPDATE: A response from Coach Glassman:
We run our SME program like a sport team. At each position we want the best man for the job and the best team player. I’ll not explain our disappointment in Robb but you can take him at his word that he has little respect or regard for CrossFit staff, policies, fitness, and nutrition. It was easy to find more qualified and collegial nutrition experts. It’s that simple.

This split was inevitable, and largely of Robb’s choosing through his actions. The Blackbox had little to do with it. Dave Castro had nothing to do with it.

This decision didn’t come easy, but I feel very good about it. It was the right thing to do for the entire community.

I too hope that Robb can continue to be a leader in the CF community. It is entirely up to him.
